2023-2024 Executive Board

PTO President: Jenny Wagoner

Jenny grew up in Wood River, NE and moved to Lincoln after graduating college. She's married to Phillip and has two boys, 6th grader, Mason, and 3rd grader, Joel. Jenny works for Schneider Electric as an HR Manager. Jenny enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and playing piano.

"I love being part of the PTO to help create lasting memories for all of our students at Cavett, and to support our staff and their needs."

PTO Vice President: Britni Wilbrand

Britni is from Alliance, NE and moved to Lincoln to attend UNL where she got her teaching degree in elementary education and early childhood. She works part-time as a preschool teacher and owns a small business designing and creating jewelry. Her husband, Tony, is a software engineer and together they have three kids: Eli is a sophomore at Southwest, Trey is a 6th grader at Scott, and Maci is a 3rd grader at Cavett.

In her free time she enjoys playing volleyball, reading, crafting, and cooking. After many years of working behind the scenes of the PTO, she is excited to officially take on this role and continue to support Cavett families and staff!

PTO Treasurer: Kent Keiser

Kent grew up in Juniata, NE. He moved to Lincoln to attend UNL where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Management. Kent works for the State of Nebraska as an IT Infrastructure Analyst. Kent and his wife, Laurie, have one daughter, Maya, a 2nd grader. Kent enjoys working on home improvement projects, playing with any new gadget he can get his hands on, and taking Maya to all of her various activities.

"I enjoy being part of the PTO to help make sure our students and teachers always have what they need to be successful, and have as much fun as they can while doing it."

PTO Assistant Treasurer: Meghan Schulz-Memming

Meghan is from Lincoln and attended Ruth Hill and Humann Elementary schools, Pound Middle, and Lincoln Southeast. She graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism degree from UNL. Meghan is a flight attendant for Delta and is based in Minneapolis. She’s married to Brandon who is a computer programmer for Cabela’s/Bass Pro. Their daughter, Sylvie, is in 3rd grade, and their son, Theo, will join the Cavett community next year. Meghan enjoys crafting, knitting, and reading in her spare time, as well as soaking up as much family time as possible.

PTO Secretary: Jami Fought

Jami works part-time as an office manager at Southwest Pediatric Dentistry. Her husband, Greg, is the dentist. She has four children: Tre' - 28 who lives in Newark, NJ; Taylen - 25 who lives in Nashville, TN; Kyson - 4th grade; Emi - 2nd grade; and puppy, Jack. She loves to spend time together with her family and travel. In her spare time she enjoys crafting, baking, walking, or DIYing!

PTO Member at Large: Anna Lowe

Anna grew up in Garden City, NY (on Long Island). She moved to Lincoln, NE to get her Master's in Music Theory at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. She's married to Andrew and has a 1st grader, Matthew. Anna works as an office associate at UNMC College of Nursing in Lincoln. She enjoys playing her clarinet, gardening, reading, and the outdoors.

"I love being part of the PTO to help with all the activities and events the PTO puts on for the students at Cavett. Seeing their smiles makes me smile. I also am excited to help support the teachers and staff."

Administrative Advisor: Kathleen Dering, Principal

Kathleen grew up in Wayne, NE, attended high schools in Wayne, Arizona, and Springfield, MO. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and started her teaching career in San Francisco, CA in 1989. After a few years there, she moved back to the midwest and taught in the Blue Valley School District in Kansas while earning her Masters Degree at the University of Kansas-Lawrence. She met her husband in 1998 and moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where she continued to teach before becoming an elementary principal in the early 2000s. Together, with their daughter Hanna, they moved to Nebraska in 2011 - returning to their roots and to a family owned farm. Hannah is now happily married ~ living the ranching life with her husband in Western Nebraska and serving their community as a nurse!

"Your children and our Cavett staff are the WHY I love my work. I'm thankful that my 35 years as an educator has given me the opportunity to serve families in 5 states and 10 school districts. I can't imagine doing it any other way - the staffs and families I've worked with along this journey have resulted in the greatest memories and experiences. I absolutely love our Cardinal community and strive to create a community where teachers and your children LOVE coming to school!!"
