Playground Makeover - February 2026

THEY SET A DATE!

The district has shared that they will be starting the process of updating and adding to the Cavett Playground! The work is slated to start this spring with hopes to be completed by the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.

What will change on the playground?

The current large playground structure will be taken out of the ground and the blue dome will be removed. New concrete & rubber will be laid to enlarge the current play area. The large play structure (with some pieces replaced) will be set back into the area and 4 new play items will be added. There will also be changes to the old maypole area. 

Shouldn't it be bigger? 

Costs have gone up considerably from the time we started raising money for the playground project. The PTO will give $60,000 to the district to help fund the project with final cost being over $100,000.

2022-2023 Cardinals Fence Sign

 
In February, the purchase of the fence-cup sign was approved by the PTO. This sign will sit along the most-used street for the school so that everyone can enjoy!

2019-2020 Climbing Wall

 
In November, the purchase of a traversing wall was approved by the PTO. This traversing wall was added to the gym in January. Mr. Johnson has enjoyed introducing this new activity to all the students!
